Our Melbourne Education Day was a huge success

Presentations kicked off with a few words from our Gold Sponsor Kimberly-Clark Australia. Morning presentations then followed with renowned Wound Consultant and Lymphodema Practitioner, Linda Howell providing delegates with a thought provoking discussion on the importance of correct wound healing. Next up Director of Hyperbaric Medicine, Dr Martin Hodgson educated delegates on the effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen for diabetic wounds.

Morning tea gave delegates a welcome chance to network and visit the 40+ exhibitor stands. Exhibitors included; TENA, Coloplast, Conni and Independence Australia’s own Community and Health Solutions teams.

Following on from the morning break, speakers Anna Brown and Thea Connor presented their insightful topics of bowel management and management of the neurogenic bladder. The afternoon commenced with Silver Sponsor Hartmann and Intimacy Consultant Emily Irwin who offered insight into her unique practice. Dietitian Denise Burbridge gave a fantastic speech titled ‘nutrition considerations for ageing Australians.’

Our second silver sponsor TENA welcomed in the afternoon before delegates heard from nurse practitioner Melinda Brooks whose presentation on wound dressing selection bought another successful Education Day to a close.

Feedback from our delegates and sponsors has since been positive with many already looking forward to next year.
