Tim McCallum stars on The Voice

At the start of July Tim McCallum, a good friend and supporter of Independence Australia, auditioned for the latest series of The Voice Australia.

Tim put on a wonderful performance and even brought Jessie J to tears. After joining Ricky’s team, Tim has been working hard to keep his spot in the competition.

This week saw the start of The Voice Battles and Tim was paired up with team mate Mark Stefanoff, another male tenor. Singing The Impossible Dream, Mark and Tim put on an incredible performance that brought the audience to their feet and many to tears.

Ricky had a tough decision on his hands but we’re thrilled to say Tim won the battle and is through to the next round. Congratulations Tim!

We'll keep you posted on Tim's progress in the competition over the coming weeks. In the mean time, you can show your support for Tim over on Twitter - @TimothyMcCallum #TeamRicky #TheVoiceAU

After a fantastic performance in The Voice Battles, Tim progressed through to the next round of the competition. On Sunday night he took on Dione and Naomi in the Super Battle.

Against some fierce competition, Tim sung ‘You Raise Me Up’ wonderfully. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to secure a spot in the final 16 and a chance to perform in the live shows.

We’d like to thank Tim for sharing his beautiful voice with Australia; some remarkably talented individuals meant it was always going to be an incredibly tough competition.

Tim commented, "I hope my singing and passion for music has entertained you and made you feel inspired, motivated and lifted to achieve whatever it is you want to in life. Music has done this for me, and will continue to drive me till I reach my own dreams."

Congratulations Tim, we know this is not the last time we will be hearing from you!
