Andrew Daddo says goodbye to the jungle

Andrew Daddo says goodbye to the jungleAs many of you will know Channel Ten’s new reality show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here premiered at the start of February. Included in the line-up was friend of Independence Australia, Andrew Daddo.

Each week the celebrities face both gruelling and gruesome bush tucker trials for the chance to win food and treats for their fellow camp mates. Contestants also face the public vote each week, with the celebrity receiving the least votes evicted from the jungle.

The celebrity who can out do their camp mates to become King or Queen of the jungle will win $100,000 for their chosen charity, an incredible amount of money. Andrew nominated Independence Australia as his recipient charity, a charity and cause which is personally important to him.

For the past month we have been encouraging staff, donors and supporters alike to vote for Andrew. Unfortunately after four long weeks in the jungle Andrew was evicted on Sunday.

“I’m disappointed for my charity, Independence Australia, and from a competitive point of view.”

Although Andrew’s time on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has come to an end we are thrilled with how far he made it. We’d like to thank everyone who voted, your support is greatly appreciated.

Our biggest thanks however must go to Andrew. He may not have secured the big win but in simply nominating Independence Australia he has raised awareness of the important work we do to support people living with disabilities to lead independent lives.
