Accessibility Weekend winner soars in an opportunity of a lifetime

Independence Australia helped make a dream come true for one lucky winner as part of our Accessibility Weekend competition.

Karen boarded a Global Ballooning Australia Easy Access Basket in the early hours of Sunday 10 September after entering the campaign’s competition, “What does accessibility mean to you?”

Karen’s winning entry featured images of herself and her friends making the most of various activities, demonstrating that everyone has the opportunity to fully participate in life.

Kindly donated by Global Ballooning Australia, Karen was overjoyed to be given the opportunity to add hot air ballooning to her growing list of experiences.

As part of the prize, Karen was able to bring a friend along to enjoy the experience, with the pair making their way to the Yarra Valley at dawn to meet with Global Ballooning Australia’s friendly staff.

Following her adventure, Karen thanked Global Ballooning Australia in a Facebook review, describing the experience as a “dream come true” and highly recommending it to anyone living with a disability.

Thank you to all entrants who took the time to enter Independence Australia’s Global Ballooning Australia competition.

Planning has already begun for next year’s Accessibility Weekend.
