Independence Australia All Abilities State TeamIndependence Australia recently partnered with Netball Victoria in their search for the 2014 netball All Abilities Team. Each year the All Abilities State Team represents Victoria in the prestigious Marie Little OAM Shield Tournament.

Netball Victoria strives to give every Victorian the opportunity to play netball. All Ability Netball provides that chance for people with a physical or intellectual disability to participate directly or indirectly in local clubs and associations.

On Sunday 6 April, after a tough day of trials at the State Netball and Hockey Centre, a squad of 10 were selected. Congratulations to the 2014 All Abilities Team: Sue Hoskin, Sheree Marks, Renay Hall, Jessika Gray, Helen Henshall, Ashlea Rollason, Courtney Drake, Loretta Devlin'Smith, Kylie Campbell, Emma Mangan, Coach Janet Parker, and Team Manager Nicole de Groot.

Following the 2014 squad announcement, the All Abilities Team took to the court at Hisense Arena on Sunday 4 May. During half time of the Melbourne Vixens and NSW Swifts match the All Abilities Team played a short game and showcased their skills to a crowd of over 6,500 netball fans.

Marcia Baron, General Manager - Community & Quality at Independence Australia attended the match and presented the 2013 Marie Little OAM Shield to last year's Victorian All Abilities Team, the reigning champions.

The 2014 Marie Little OAM Shield Tournament will be held in Melbourne on August 17. Good luck team!
