The Western Australian Continence Management and Support Scheme (CMASS) is a product subsidy scheme specifically for adults to assist with meeting the costs of continence products. It is managed and operated by Independence Australia on behalf of the Disability Services Commission.
You need to:
The Silver Chain Nursing Association delivers the service at clinics throughout Western Australia. Specialist nurses will assess your needs and provide confidential advice on how to best manage and improve your bladder or bowel condition.
The association also provides information about eligibility for continence products to the value of $490 per 12 month period from the date of your first assessment. This service is for people aged 16 years or older.
To be eligible to receive CMASS funding, consumers must contact a registered Continence Nurse Advisor or Silver Chain on 1300 787 055 and arrange an assessment by a clinician who will provide a prescription to Independence Australia.
Once a prescription has been received by Independence Australia an initial order will be placed as per the referral request for delivery directly to the client's place of residence. You can then reorder at your convenience once an assessment has been submitted by calling Independence Australia on 1300 788 855.
