The Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP) is an Australian Government program administered by the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA), which provides aids and appliances to eligible members of the veteran community to help them maintain functional independence in their homes.
Independence Australia is a preferred supplier for the supply of continence and urology products under this program and can supply the full range to entitled persons nationally.
RAP products are available to Gold and White card holders on the basis of an assessed clinical need made by an appropriately qualified health provider.
Your first order from Independence Australia requires a prescription form to be completed by a health professional, such as your local doctor or continence nurse. Your health professional can complete a DVA Direct Order Form and fax, post or email it to Independence Australia.
Re-ordering is easy. You can re-order the prescribed products directly from Independence Australia as clinically required. Contact our Customer Service team on 1300 788 855 and fax, mail or email through your order. You will need to revisit your health professional for a new prescription every two years or if your product needs change.
Continence products listed under the relevant item code in the RAP National Schedule of Equipment, may be prescribed using the Direct Order Form by healthcare professionals. These include continence nurse advisors, registered nurses, general practitioners, urologists and, for some items, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
An initial prescription can be completed by submitting the Direct Order Form via fax or email or through the Independence Australia DVA portal.
