Refer a friend

Refer a friend to work for Independence Australia as a support worker and you’ll both receive $50*.

Simply: 

1. Tell your friend Independence Australia is recruiting

2. Direct them to our Apply Now page and have them fill out the application form

3. Make sure they select the ’Through a friend’ option (when prompted)

4. Ask them to tell us your name so we can reward you!

You’ll both receive your reward once the successful applicant completes a minimum of 10 shifts.

Terms and conditions   

Purpose
Our employee referral program (‘Refer a Friend’ scheme) explains important aspects of our employee referral procedures to ensure a smooth process is in place to assist with the hiring process. We place great importance on referrals because we trust our employees understand our culture and know what is best for our company.

Who can participate in the program
The refer a friend program applies only to employees who are Disability Support Workers (DSW) except for Senior management, recruiters, hiring managers in community solutions for DSW positions which they are hiring for and Field staff who are directly or indirectly responsible.

The referring employee who refers a DSW candidate to our company is eligible for a reward as part of the ‘refer a friend’ scheme.
The successful candidate who is appointed as a DSW will also receive a reward. If you know a DSW that you think would be a good fit for Independence Australia, we encourage you to check our website for open DSW positions and consider your social networks and external networks as potential resources for referred candidates.

To be eligible for the reward the below terms and conditions must apply:
• The company will issue a reward to both the referrer and the referred candidate who is successfully appointed to each receive a $50 Coles Myer Voucher

• As per the scheme, the definition of a successful appointment is when a candidate has been hired by the company to work as a DSW on a casual or permanent basis and fills a minimum of 10 full shifts as per the company roster
• Our company uses an online form or a platform where referred candidates must state their full name as part of the recruitment application process. Employees can also reach out directly to the HR department for more information if required or to specify the name of any employees referred to the company to work as a DSW 
• The referred candidate cannot be someone who has worked for the company previously in any capacity
• There is no cap on the number of referrals an employee can make. All rewards will be paid accordingly
• Vouchers are issued monthly and will be sent out at the end of the relevant month where the candidate successfully completes 10 full shifts before the 20th day of that month
• If two or more employees refer the same candidate, only the first referrer will receive their referral rewards
The company reserves the right to remove or adjust this program in line with business requirements. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate against protected characteristics.
