Brian has been Chairman of the Board since November 2010 and is a member of the Audit & Risk and Commerce & Planning Sub-Committees. Prior to a 25 year career in investment banking, he was chief economist of ICI Australia (now Orica). He has specialised in major property transactions, corporate advisory, corporate finance, management buyouts, venture capital and large scale syndications. He has held roles as Director of the federal government licensed Innovation Investment Fund and co-founded OSA Group, a provider of mental health services to corporates. Brian has been an advisor for a number of private companies in human resources, health, aged care, software, entertainment and finance and is currently a Director of the Australia Israel Chamber of Commerce and Prana Biotechnology, and Chairman of a privately owned corporate health business.

Michael is also a member of the Commerce & Planning Sub-Committee. He is the Managing Partner of The Shannon Company, with over 25 years of senior management experience in marketing and advertising including Director of Ogilvy & Mather Australia, Director of George Patterson Bates and Founding Managing Director and National Partner of M&C Saatchi Melbourne. Throughout his career, Michael has held a number of Board and Advisory roles including Strategic Advisor to Reach, Trustee of the Victorian Arts Centre and Director of the Richmond Football Club. Michael is also Chair of the Remuneration & Nominations Sub-Committee and a member of the Commerce & Planning Sub-Committee.

Jeremy is also a member of the Audit & Risk Sub-Committee. He is a Lead Quality, Environmental and Safety Auditor and Systems Consultant with DLCS International. Prior to an accident which left Jeremy a paraplegic, Jeremy worked as a Building Project Manager for several large construction organisations. Jeremy is the Managing Director of Jeremy R. Long Building Consultants Pty Ltd, and is a Director of Disability Sport & Recreation.

Catherina is a Legal and Regulatory Compliance Consultant with extensive experience in risk management, compliance, and legal and strategy development. Throughout her career, Catherina has held a number of senior executive positions across a variety of organisations including PriceWaterhouseCoopers and National Australia Bank. She is an experienced company Director, with Board and Committee experience in the not-for-profit, private and public sectors, and is also a Director of Brotherhood of St Laurence and Chair of its Finance and Investment Committee, Chair of Social Venture Partners Melbourne Limited and The Social Venture Partners Australia Fund and an Audit Committee member of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. Catherina is also Chair of the Audit & Risk Sub-Committee.

Valerie possesses more than 30 years' experience in strategic leadership roles within the health and finance sectors. Her depth of expertise spans Seniors Residential Services, Disability Services and Community Services, with a key focus on building sustainable and innovative organisations for the benefit of the Australian community. Throughout her career she has held senior management positions for a number of seniors, disability and education services organisations including Uniting Agewell, Villa Maria (Victoria) and Southern Cross Care Victoria. Valerie has previously held board and committee positions with Leading Aged Services Australia, National Disability Services – Victoria and Catholic Health Australia, and is currently a director of industry super fund, HESTA.

Paul is also Chair of the Commerce & Planning Sub-Committee. Paul is currently the Director of an international management consulting company and Chairman of a national infrastructure group. Prior to this he was Executive Chairman of the Somaia Group for 4 years following almost 10 years as a National Executive for a major ASX listed support services group, after completing a number of years as the General Manger of the Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre (Victoria). He has also held a number of executive positions for the Western Australia Department of Health, including Managing Director of the Central Department. Paul also held a number of related senior appointments including a secondment as a United Nations Consultant to the World Health Organisation in Geneva (1992) and Associate Professor at the University of Wollongong (1995).
Throughout his career, Paul has contributed to a number of charitable Boards, including the Red Cross and Cancer Council, and has been a member of a number of National Policy Committees including the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Committee.

Peter has been the Chief Executive Officer of Independence Australia since 2005. He has a Masters of Health Administration from the University of New South Wales, is a Fellow of CPA (Aust.), a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Peter has worked in a range of senior management positions in the health and community services industry for over 25 years in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He is a Harvard Club Fellow, an Alumnus of Leadership Victoria, a volunteer Surveyor for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, Chairman of a Community Health Service and has also served as the probono Chief Executive of a charitable trust.
