Despite the recent storms of Melbourne casting their might over our fair city and indeed Moonee Valley itself a few weeks ago, our fifth annual Racing for the Roses event took place with fortitude and finesse, on the evening of Friday 19th March, 2010. 

There were 320 'well dressed and keen to spend' guests in attendance, and in excess of $74,000 was raised through ticket sales and fundraising activities on the night. Once again, this event added invaluable dollars to the future of our vital services.

It was great to see so many familiar faces, and to also welcome a number of new friends to our fold; most of them seen leaving the event with arms full of prizes and auction bargains.

As you will all be aware, although Independence Australia does receive some Government funding it is the additional funds we raise through events like Racing for the Roses that ultimately enable us to provide quality services to our clients.

Racing for the Roses is our major fundraiser for the year, and this event would not have been the success it was without the contributions made by all who supported us through buying tickets and/or donating items to our auctions and competitions.
